GRUBB-REED
CEMETERY
|
Below are photos of an old cemetery that stood across the street from the Bliley family home at 965 West Arlington Road. When I was a boy in the 1950s, the cemetery was part of the open and wild space across the street in which we played. The cemetery had no fence or visible markers, and we were told the large trees on the land were planted as grave markers. It was not until the year 2001, that I learned this was in deed a real cemetery, and one that now lays in the front yard of someone's home.

The cemetery is bounded by the driveway on the left, the front of the house, the hedgerow and the street. | Straight-on view of the house at 956 West Arlington Road wit h the cemetery in the front yard. It is bordered on the right by the row of arborvitae shrubs. There is a Madonna statue and plaque at the front end of the row of shrubs. | |||
